It would seem that within this current generation of gamin that 2D fighters have be rejuvenated, and it is what many gamers wish for. With the likes of Street Fighter returning to it much loved 2D view, a tried, tested and loved formula for the series. The classics like Marvel VS Capcom II returning as download content, and them recently announcing a third instalment in the series. It seemed the correct time for Arc System Works known for their work on the Guilty Gear series to come forward, and they did with Blazblue Calamity Trigger.
Got this game on Saturday (came out Friday). Not much was known about it really, it had a blaze of info released early on in development. But then it went pretty quiet. Made my Square Enix, but not turn based, more a hack ‘n’ slash RPG really.
Wasn’t really sure what to make of it myself at first, but thought it would be worth a go. At the moment I am really enjoying it, sort of a slow game with a complex story at the moment, hope it picks up later in the game (about 5 hours into it now). Just finshed off the first boss, and it was a pretty good fight overall. Expect them to get bigger and harder further in the game.
But, if your into your RPG’s and/or Hack ‘n’ Slash games, you should take a look at it sometime, even if it is waiting for it to drop in price.
I decided to make my XBOX 360 Avatar resemble Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell Conviction. After finally getting my hands on the next game in my favourite Games Series yesterday. For pre-ordering it at HMV they gave me 800 free Microsoft Points. So I used them to buy some Splinter Cell gear for my avatar, soon after buying the Sam Fisher costume it hit me… Why dont you make a Sam Fisher avatar?
So I did, above is the outcome. I dont think I did to bad of a job.
After my post yesterday, and coming to realise I had not done and game related art work in a long time. My weekend objective was to complete some game related art work, but then it hit a snag. I remembered this week is the launch of Splinter Cell Conviction, the long awaited return of my favourite games series (so you can guess where my weekend will be spent).
With this in mind I decided to put some time into atleast starting some art work based on a game tonight, and thought what better subject than Sam Fisher. So tonight I ended up putting 3 – 4 hours work into this piece. With a final outcome I am quite pleased with.
Well I coudn’t think of a better way to start of this blog than to mix two of my favourite hobbies together, and to creat a post covering both games and my art work. Making a Games meets Art idea. These are pieces I have completed over my time doing art work over the past 6 years, you will most likely notice this over the improvement in style/detail.
So lets take a look at my Games meets Art moments (9 images in total)
